Individual Therapy

Dr Jacob Sorbello provides individual therapeutic services for adults aged 18+. His primary area of clinical interest is in the treatment of alcohol, substance and behavioural addictions, trauma and PTSD, obsessive compulsive disorders and anxiety disorders. Dr Jacob’s practice has grown from a broad range of experience in non-for profit settings, public health, community clinics and non-government organisations.

Individual psychological therapy involves an initial assessment at the first session so Dr Jacob can develop a common understanding about the current difficulties that may be challenging you. Individual psychological therapy can be accessed privately or through a mental health care plan (MHCP) as referred by a General Practitioner. Dr Jacob is an approved DVA and Workcover provider.

Group Therapy
Dr Jacob provides addiction specific group therapy for outpatients accessing Belmont Private Hospital, Brisbane (Australia).
Dr Jacob is the primary facilitator for the Recovery Follow-Up group - a group dedicated to long-term recovery and social support from alcohol, substances and behavioural addictions – and the First Steps Addictions program – an 8-week program run three times per year to assist with early recovery from addiction disorders.
To access group therapy through Belmont Private Hospital, you must be under the care of a psychiatrist with admitting rights to the hospital.
